Recently it was Luciano Busuttil’s wife, Dorothy Busutill Fitzpatrick’s turn to be the subject of Daphne Caruana Galizia’s online bullying. If Caruana Galizia made her point, stated the facts and stuck to doing things fairly and squarely, then that would have been fair game.
But of course Caruana Galizia is never fair. Not with Labour people anyway. Not only is anyone Labour not given the benefit of the doubt but everything becomes a personal attack.
So she lost no time telling us what she thought of Mrs Busuttil Fitzpatrick heavy make-up and all – funny how she never sees the same qualities in Nationalist women like the other Ms Busuttil (Simon Busuttil’s sister) – bad skin, beady eyes and hooker-like make-up and garb. But anyway, let’s not dwell on that for the time being.
Her charitable audience – those desperadoes who share her articles and are made up of mostly herself and other family members – decided to add insult to injury and posted a perfectly harmless FB screenshot where Dorothy Busuttil Fitzpatrick is asking for second hand school books for her children. This happens all the time on Facebook. Absolutely nothing wrong with that of course, and all of us have gone down this perfectly logical and acceptable road.
Why buy brand new schoolbooks that cost al fortune, which children use for 9 months and barely even touch or refer to? Teaching notes often replace books anyway and most books remain untouched.
But even so, Mrs Busuttil Fitzpatrick has every right to buy second hand school books for her children with or without Caruana Galizia’s blessing and without out being called names.
Daphne Caruana Galizia and her readers think otherwise.
Daphne, people who live – or whose sisters live – in second-hand glass house should not throw stones.
Here is Mandy Mallia – one of Daphne Caruana Galizia’s sisters asking for second hand school books ‘with no writing on, and having the correct ISBNs’.
Mmm I wonder whether she bought herself some make-up with the money she saved from buying those second hand Sixth Form school books.
