Disprament politiku qawwi

L-attakk li qed jagħmel Simon Busuttil fuq l-investiment Amerikan f’Malta mill-kumpanija ġganteska Crane Currency huwa sempliċiment frott id-disprament politiku qawwi tiegħu quddiem ir-rizultati pożittivi li qed jesperjenzaw il-familji u n-negozji Maltin u Għawdxin. Fuq kollox għax il-Kap tal-Oppożizzjoni huwa kontra l-investiment.

Dan l-attakk m’huwiex fula f’qargħa, iżda attakk sistematiku kontra kull investiment li kien attirat lejn pajjiżna u li permezz tiegħu qed ikun maħluqa aktar impjiegi ta’ kwalità.

Attakk fuq il-programm ta’ Ċittadinanza b’investiment li Busuttil iddeskriva bħala prostituzzjoni ta’ Malta.

Attakk fuq l-investiment fil-qasam tal-enerġija ta’ €320miljun li salva l-Enemalta u qal li huwa ma riedx li jħalli subgħajn iċ-Ċiniżi fuq is-swiċċ tal-elettriku.

Attakk fuq l-investiment fil-qasam tas-Saħħa ta’ €200miljun li għall-Kap tal-Oppożizzjoni m’huwa investiment xejn.

Attakk fuq l-investiment ta’ €120miljun tal-Università Amerikana f’Malta permezz ta’ kampanja ta’ biża fil-konfront tal-Ġordan u l-prezzijiet tal-għaġin.

Issa jmiss attakk fuq dan l-investiment Amerikan  ta’ $100miljun u b’ħolqien ta’ 300 post tax-xogħol ġdid.

Simon Busuttil ma jiflaħx jara lil dan il-pajjiż jagħmel suċċess. Jekk ma jilgħabx, se jkompli jħassar. Imma quddiemu se jsib Gvern li jkompli jaħdem b’enerġija pożittiva biex jattira l-investiment u jkompli jagħmel minn Malta l-aqwa pajjiż fl-Ewropa.

X’kienu qalu meta l-ħbieb ta’ Simon vvotaw kontra Malta

X’differenza! Kemm kienu ħadu gost li kien hemm vot kontra Malta. Illum li n-nomina tal-gvern Malti kienet approvata unanimament mit-28 gvern tal-Unjoni Ewropea, l-aħbar l-anqas biss tissemma’ fil-paġni ta’ quddiem.

It-Times u n-Nazzjon saru l-istess.

Nirranġaw ruħna kieku nisimgħu minn Simon!

Filwaqt li bejn Marzu 2008 u Marzu 2013 il-prezz tal-petrol kien żdied b’39ċ u d-diesel b’36ċ, mill-ewwel xahar sħiħ ta’ din l-amministrazzjoni il-prezz tal-petrol raħas bi 23ċ u l-prezz tad-diesel raħas b’24ċ.

Bl-istqarrijiet żbaljati u negattivi tiegħu, il-Kap tal-Oppożizzjoni mhux se jirnexxilu jnessi l-bidla pożittiva li seħħet fil-qasam tal-enerġija tul din il-leġislatura.

L-istatistika tal-Kummissjoni Ewropea fuq prezzijiet tal-fuel turi li, filwaqt li l-Gvern preżenti raħħas il-prezzijiet tal-fuel simili għal dak li qed iseħħ fl-Unjoni Ewropea, il-Gvern ta’ qabel kien impona żieda kważi d-doppju ta’ dik fl-Ewropa.

Bejn Marzu 2008 u Marzu 2013 il-prezz internazzjonali taż-żejt żdied b’4% imma l-amministrazzjoni Nazzjonalista kienet għolliet il-prezz tal-fuel b’36%. Fl-istess żmien dak il-Gvern għolla l-prezz tad-dawl b’71%. Li jfisser li kien għolla il-prezz tal-fuel b’ 9 darbiet iż-żieda fil-prezz internazzjonali taż-żejt u bi 17-il darba aktar il-prezz tal-elettriku. Dawn iż-żewġ deċiżjonijiet bejniethom swew lill-familja medja Maltija €1,500 kull sena.

B’kuntrast, l-politika tal-Gvern preżenti waslet għal tnaqqis ta’ €820 kull sena fl-ispiża tal-familja medja, li €150 minnhom huma kontijiet tad-dawl inqas u l-bqija roħs fil-fuel. Dan huwa wieħed mill-kawżi għalfejn l-ammont ta’ persuni f’riskju ta’ faqar jew esklużjoni soċjali naqas b’5,000 persuna taħt din l-amministrazzjoni, wara żieda ta’ 18,000 taħt l-amministrazzjoni preċedenti, li kienet temmen li l-faqar huwa biss perċezzjoni.

Waqt li Simon Busuttil ikompli jitlef il-kredibbilità anke fuq il-qasam tal-enerġija, dan il-Gvern ser ikompli fiż-żmien li ġej, kif diġa għamel fl-ewwel parti ta’ din il-leġislatura, inaqqas il-piżijiet minn fuq il-familji u n-negozji.

Kif tinduna li aħbar tkun tajba għal Malta?

Ma ssibha mkien fl-ewwel faċċata tal-Times u tan-Nazzjon! Meta Simon Busuttil irnexxilu jagħmel ħsara ma’ sħabu fil-Parlament Ewropew, kienet materja tal-ewwel faċċata. Illum li Simon Busuttil kien sfiduċjat minn 28 gvern Ewropew li 20 minnhom m’humiex xellugin, l-aħbar dwar l-approvazzjoni tan-nomina Maltija għall-Qorti Ewropea tal-Awdituri ma tidher mkien.

Strateġija li daħlitu ġol ħajt

M’hemm xejn iktar xi żżid ma’ dan it-titlu fl-istorja ewlenin tal-Orizzont tal-llu, wara li n-nomina tal-gvern Malti għall-Qorti Ewropea tal-Awdituri kienet approvata unanimament mill-gvernjiiet Ewropej.

Mhux ta’ b’xejn il-partitarji tal-PN kienu maħruqin għall-istrateġija ta’ Simon Busuttil li llum huwa iżolat fl-Ewropa.

Falza stikka kbira

Illejla dak il-gustuż David Thake għamel scoop kbir. Ċempel lill-kumpanija Komori Europe bbażata l-Olanda jistaqsi biex jixtri maġna tal-printing. Ovvjament kif jimxu l-affarijiet fid-dinja normali jgħidulhom li f’Malta għandhom aġent li hu Kasco.

Scoop scoop, għajtu l-PN, Thake u DCG!

Il-ġdur ma ndunawx li ċemplu kumpanija u entita’ kompletament differenti u bbażata f’pajjiż ieħor.

Jekk CRANE tagħzel lill-Komori, se tmur għand Komori Currency Technology li hija bbażata f’Londra u ma għandha xejn x’taqsam mal-kumpanija ta’ l-Olanda.

Ovvjament qed jilagħbu bil-fatt li n-nies ma jagħmlux distinzjoni.

Imma ma jirrealizzawx li llum mhux kulħadd beċċun bħalhom.

Guest Post: Disingenuous reporting or mistaken facts based on utter ignorance.

The Sunday Times of Malta plastered on its front page last Sunday a 1969 image of a shipwrecked tanker.
The imagery was intended to convey the danger posed by rough seas to the LNG tanker that will be berthed at Delimara to serve as a storage and supply vessel for the gas power station.

The story would have been plausible had STOM not got their locations mixed up. The 1969 incident involving the Angel Gabriel happened when the ship was off the Marsaskala coast and not inside Marsaxlokk Bay.

Now, Marsaskala and Marsaxlokk both begin with Marsa but they happen to be two different seaside localities. Even though they neighbour each other, their geographical location means their coasts are exposed to different wind patterns.

The Angel Gabriel in 1969 was caught up in a storm characterized by north easterly winds known in common parlance as a Grigalata.

Any such gust will batter the exposed M’skala coastline, including St Thomas Bay. But the Grigalata has absolutely no impact on Marsaxlokk Bay, where the LNG tanker would be completely secluded beneath the Delimara cliff face.

Marsaxlokk Bay will, on the other hand, be exposed to the south easterly (Xlokk) winds. The linking of the Angel Gabriel incident to the LNG tanker was either disingenuous reporting based on politically-biased facts or mistaken facts based on utter ignorance.

I can’t say which it was but was it just a coincidence that the same comparison was made on Facebook by PN’s Jason Azzopardi just two days earlier?
The Sunday Times could have gone one step further and sought the reaction of Electrogas on impact of storms on the LNG operation. It seems The Malta Independent, which also picked on the same story on the same day, did this. It was told storm moorings were being used.
Ensuring the LNG operation is safe even in stormy weather is very important and too crucial to be the subject of cheap, sensational reporting that spins fiction into fact like The Sunday Times tried to do.
Political spin aside, the maritime safety studies should be made public. People’s minds should be put at rest.

Questions never asked

During the previous administration investment brought to Malta by Malta Development Corporation (now Malta Enterprise) would invariably use KPMG as their auditor/accountants, where  Richard’s brother Edward Cachia Caruana was a partner. The Times never asked questions then. Nor did anyone cry foul.

The Times and PN trolls never asked questions about a possible conflict of interest and why, investors brought to Malta used Cachia Caruana’s KPMG as their accountants and auditors.

But now, in their bitter attack against US investment, they want us to believe that Crane Currency came to Malta because the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff is an agent in Malta for a company that might supply machinery which will need maintenance.

Kasco Group’s relation with a company that supplies machinery for printing currencies dates back eight years and when Crane Currency will decide which machinery to purchase, they will go to the supplier and not Keith Schembri.

Simon Busuttil is bitter about this latest new investment as he and his PN were with Chinese and Jordanian investments.  So much so that he wants the Prime Minister to sack his Chief of Staff because he facilitated the $100 million investment creating 300 jobs.

So a Chief of Staff has had experience in the world of business, might that be why since 2013 Malta has been open for business and there has never been so much work created. Over 17,000 more employees in the second quarter of this year compared to March 2013.

The unbelievable stupidity of Simon Busuttil has to be digested to be fully understood.

Simon Busuttil, ought to tell the 300 people who will find work at the new printing company coming from Boston that the person who has some knowledge of this area should be sacked.

In the reign of disgraced ambassador Richard Cachia Caruana only he was in charge and one had to get past him for everything. No questions asked.

Il-gvernijiet Ewropej japprovaw il-ħatra ta’ Leo Brincat fil-Qorti Ewropea tal-Awdituri

Il-ħsara li għamel il-PN ma waslitx sal-gvernijiet. Il-kandidat Malti għall-Qorti Ewropea tal-Awdituri, Leo Brincat, kiseb l-approvazzjoni sħiħa tat-28 pajiż membru tal-Unjoni Ewropea.

Kif mitlub mit-Trattat dwar l-Unjoni Ewropea, wara l-vot favur din in-nomina mill-kumitat dwar il-kontroll tal-budget Ewropew, kellu jkun il-Kunsill tal-Ministri li jieħu d-deċiżjoni finali wara parir mill-Parlament Ewropew.

F’dan il-każ, il-parir kien kontra għax il-persuna kien Leo Brincat billi l-PN inqeda bil-kuntatti mal-PPE, l-akbar grupp fil-Parlament Ewropej biex ifixkel in-nomina tal-gvern Malti.

L-approvazzjoni kompatta tal-pajjiżi kollha tal-Unjoni Ewropea tfisser li Leo Brincat għadda mill-għarbiel b’suċċess u bla ebda diskussjoni, u huwa kkonfermat bħala membru fl-istituzzjoni li sservi bħala awditur estern indipendenti tal-Unjoni Ewropea.

Il-vot qawwi favur il-kandidat Malti juri li qatt ma kien hemm dubju dwar l-integrita u l-kompetenzi tiegħu għal din il-ħatra. Kienet verament ħasra li, fuq livell lokali għall-ewwel darba fl-istorja, pajjiżna ma kienx maqgħud wara din in-nomina u saħansitra kien hemm min beda jfajjar ismijiet ta’ min għandu jieħu post Leo Brincat.

Il-Papa sejjer l-Azerbaijan, x’għarukaża

Fl-ewwel jiem ta’ Ottubru l-Papa Frnġisku se jmur l-Azerbaijan. Għarukaża kbira. Ma jistax ikun. Aqqas ridt nemmen lill-għajnejja meta rajt l-aħbar fil-media internazzjonali.

Taf li apparti li jiltaqa’ mal-President se jikkonċelebra quddiesa? Qatt ma bsarta mil-Papa li jmur l-Azerbaijan daqs kemm jgħidulna li hemm xjaten f’dan il-pajjiż.

Riċentement l-iSpeaker Anġlu Farrugia kien l-Azerbaijan bħala osservatur għal referendum li sar u ħoll xagħrek u ġib iż-żejt kemm qalgħu affarijiet.

Anke meta mar il-Prim Ministru Muscat, ummi ma x’ma qalux. Għalhekk ma nafx kif sejjer il-Papa qalb dawk ix-xjaten kollha.

Tgħid Charles Jude ma fetaħlux għajnejh?

Il-PN se jkollhom minn fejn jagħżlu siġġijiet

Il-Kummissjoni Elettorali se ssolvi l-problema bix-xiri ta’ siġġijiet ġodda.

A bitter political attack on US investment

The latest bitter political attack on a $100 million American investment which will create 300
productive, quality jobs, is nothing but another desperate attempt to foil quality jobs from coming to
Malta.

As a commercial entity Crane Currency, which works with some 60 governments including the US
Government, chooses its own suppliers according to its commercial needs. Since equipment related
to currency requires strict security features, Crane Currency purchases its equipment directly from
the supplier and does not need agents. The Government is not aware of commercial decisions which
are, or will be taken, by the company now or in the future.

This government will remain steadfast in providing investors and entrepreneurs the right
environment to invest in our countries and keep providing better jobs for the Maltese and Gozitans.

The Times and human rights

We must admit we laughed out loud when we read The Times was suddenly claiming Hillman owed them money. How come the Board did not make these claims while he was in the office?

Are these the methods of the tinpot dictators their favorite blogger Daphne uses?

You know hatching things up after the event. Hillman has been there for a lifetime with no suggestion of impropriety. First they ask him to leave after Daphne makes allegations then they refuse to let him see the final report.

Then the man in charge of the report becomes Chair of The Times. Then they make Vanni Bonnello the man who was investigating the claims that The Times was less pro PN than usual … BIG CRIME … and now they are claiming Hillman’s expenses were not authorized.

The timing of this reakes of frame ups. The frame ups the times and its chair used to rally against and write so much about.

No wonder they ended up giving away complimentary copies of The Times.

Aren’t human rights Giovanni Bonello’s expertise?
